This semester Jacob has been taking a class on Life Cycles. He totally loves it and has learned about life cycles of birds, frogs, trees, octopus, dragonflies and butterflies. They each were able to have 2 caterpillars and watch them go through all their changes. Now that they are butterflies the day came for them to be released. This morning the class met at the garden of one of the families.
They each were given a butterfly by a parent. It was a little chilly so the butterflies were kind of drowsy, which was nice because they stayed on the kids fingers instead of flying away. Each child was to then chose a special flower to place their butterfly on.

That's fun! When my cousin's (brad/abbi) son let his/their class' butterflies go, birds came down and ate them up, while all the kids were watching!?!?! sad ;) glad it was different in your experience! :)
