Yesterday we got a call from our Social Worker, Carol. She said that the only thing we are waiting for is our back ground checks from Hawaii. We have actually been waiting for them to come in for awhile. Once they come in then our packet goes to the licenser it will take about 2 weeks to get our license. Once we get our license then we can be matched with our new kids!
It is really easy to get frustrated with the process and wonder why it is taking so long. Darrick and I were talking last night. One thing that we really learned from Naomi's adoption is that everything happens in God's timing. The timing must not be right yet, but we sure can't wait until it is!
Carol said to give it a few weeks and if we don't get the papers from Hawaii she is going to call them and see what the hold up is.

Seattle Mariners
Yesterday was Salute to Armed Forces Night at the Seattle Mariners Game. We were able to purchase discount tickets so Darrick thought it would be fun to take the kids to their first professional game. The boys were awestruck at the size of the stadium and field.
A half hour before the game they did all kinds of special things with the military.
Representatives of all the different branches lined up around the field.

Soldiers getting Griffey Jr. autograph.

The Mainers Moose wearing his camis in honor of the night.

We were very excited that there was a player on the team with the last name Gutierrez. There was a sign hanging up in the stadium that said "Gutierrez is on fire" and he was! When he would hit it, the light boards would flash "Guti Guti Good!"

Spring Fair
Today we went to the Puyallup Spring Fair. Puyallup is about 1 hour south, and a little west, from our house. Today was military appreciation day so we all got in FREE and parking was FREE-love that! It was such a beautiful spring day-the sun was shining and it was almost 70 degrees.
The kids always love to see the animals!
The boys enjoyed grinding their own corn to bring home and put in Jumpy's feeder (the squirrel in our backyard).
They got to make headbands and pretend they were bugs.

Then there was FREE face painting.

We also got to see a dockdogs show. We have seen them on TV before. They travel around with their set and then the local people can compete with their dogs to see which dog can jump the farthest. Some dogs would not go off but some loved it so much and could hardly sit still waiting to go. It was a fun show.

There was a huge salmon the kids could climb in. Naomi would not go in. Lately she has a fear of fish. When ever we go near water she has to ask if there are fish in the water and she is scared they are going to get her. So she did not go in because she said the fish would swallow her. Maybe she has heard the story of Jonah too much...

Naomi loved that she had a chance to meet Dora the Explorer!

We had a great time but came home to some drama. While we were at the fair, one of our neighbors saw a strange man in our backyard. She called the police and I guess they came out in full force. They caught the guy and everything is still in our yard so we are not sure what he was doing. They think that he was in the woods behind our yard and then came over the fence into our yard. I'm glad they caught him and that we have such awesome neighbors!

Our Garden
I have always dreamed of having a garden but where ever we were living either didn't have the space or we were not allowed to have one. But now we can. Weeks ago the kids and I planted some seeds. We have been watering them and keeping the indoors in a sunny spot.
Yesterday someone from church brought me over a bunch of strawberry plants from her garden so I wanted to get them in the ground today. I cannot wait until we can put the rest in the ground and everything starts growing!
