Natalie turns One!

Wednesday we drove to Los Angeles to help Natalie celebrate her 1st birthday. The cousins had fun playing together in the house and outside. We enjoyed a yummy dinner outside on the patio and then a delicious (and cute) cake that Laura made. We opened presents and then gave all the kids a bath. We love you Natalie!

Jacob's Wipeout

This weekend while we were camping, Jacob had a major wipeout on a scooter. He ended up with many injuries to the nose, elbow, knee and ankle. We all felt so bad for him and everyone gave him some TLC.

Camping this weekend at Yucaipa

Disneyland

Last week Wednesday we took the boys to Disneyland. We were able to ride a lot of rides but the highlight was definitly the Star Wars training to be a Jedi show. Since we had just gotten back from Iowa the boys were tired so we did not stay late but while we were there we had a blast!

Chickfila Kid's Night

Last week we met our friends Big Micah, Nicole and Kaitlyn at Chickfila for dinner and Kid's night. They had a special guest-Cinderella! She painted faces, played games and read stories.

We talked while the kids played-it was a lot of fun!

Los Monitos

One of our favorite Mexican places to eat at is called Los Monitos. It started as a little hole in the wall place when my Dad was a kid. When he met my mom, he took her there and as we grew up we all ate there too. The are famous for their tacos and enchiladas. They have since expanded and have a few more locations but the taste is still the same. My parents took us out for lunch before we took Sam to the airport last week. It was so ONO!

Natalie and Jenn/Dave and Natalie/Jenn and Laura

This morning we went to my parent's church, Crosspoint. It was nice and I was surprised to find out that there was going to be a guest pastor and it was Rick Roeda. When I was in high school I use to babysit Rick and his sister and brother a lot.

After church Dave and his family came over to hang out. We had pizza and played and I enjoyed getting to know Elijah and Natalie more. It was a fun afternoon!

I love my niece!

Museum and cousins

Today my parents took us to LA to visit the California Museum of Science and Industry. The boys were able to lift a truck all by themselves and experience lots of cool interactive exhibits.
But the highlights were definitly the 3D Imax "Monsters of the Deep" and an exhibit called "Body Worlds" in which people have donated their bodies to science and then they are placticized and opened up to see everything. It may sound gross but it was really cool. The boys seemed bored with it but the did enjoy figuring out if the person was a male or female by their genitals.
After the museum we went to visit my brother Dave and his family: Laura, Elijah and Natalie. We have not seen Natalie since she was a few days old. The cousins had lots of fun playing together and then we had a delicious dinner out on the patio as the hot weather finally cooled down.
The boys fell asleep on the way home and were completely exhausted from our fun filled day!

We made it!

We made it California and very easily too! We knew that there were 3 flights going to Travis AFB yesterday so we were going tto try to make it on one of those. The first one was at 4:55am so we got up at 3:30, finished packing and were getting ready to go.

I decided to call the info line one more time just to make sure the flight was still scheduled and surprise, there was a flight going to March Air Force Base which is about 45 minutes from my parents. There were 90 seats available and we got on!

The flight was great. I really love flying MAC flights. They are so relaxed and everyone is so friendly. The pilot even invited each family up one at a time to come up to the cockpit and look out the front and see all the controls-it was awesome.

After we met up with my parents we stopped at Carl's Jr-yummy! Once home, we took baths, played and then had a good night sleep!

Time for a MAC attack

My brother Jeff is getting married on July 12. He is getting married in Iowa, so we are first going to Cali and then we will all(plus my brother Sam) fly to Iowa. So as you can figure that is mucho dinero in plane tickets. So in order to try to save some money the boys are going to try to catch a MAC flight.

The last time we flew a MAC flight was when we went to Japan. The bonus is that it is free but there is no guarentee that you will get on. On Thursday there are 3 flights going to Travis Air Force Base, so we are going to try to get on one of those.

So we are busy packing, getting haircuts and getting ready to go!
