The Farm

Friday I took the kids to The Farm, which is the same place Naomi went on her field trip. It was a beautiful afternoon so I thought it would be a great time to go! I wanted to take the boys to an attraction they have called the Washington State Corn Maze.

You start on the east side of WA and have to exit at Gray's Harbor on the west side. They have all the major roads and highways and cities. They give you a scavenger hunt with 8 cities you need to find and then discover a fact about them. We started in Spokane and were on our way.

Our first stop to find was Codger Pole. The clue was The Codger Pole tells the wonderful story of a __________ game. The answer was football.

Second stop was Walla Walla. The clue was This pack animal was used between Walla Walla and Missoula in the 1860's ____________ The answer was camel

The third stop was Bickleton. Every year thousands of ___________ flock here to nest in the birdhouses built just for them. The answer blue birds

The fourth stop was Coulee Dam. The longest conveyor system in the world (1 mile) moved ____ tons of dirt per second. The answer 1

Fifth stop was Kettle Falls.The billboard outside the town labels one person as _____ ____ ____ _____. Answer: Grump of the Year

Of course we had to stop and take a picture in Marysville!

Then we were on to Seattle, where we found the Space Needle and this clue A project named the ______ ________ pushed the hills of Seattle out onto the tide flats. Answer: Denny Regrade

Then onto a bridge called the Tacoma Narrows. This bridge is nicknamed ______________.

Answer: Old Galloping Gerty

And our final stop was the Peace Arch at the Canadian border. A piece of what ship is encased in this monument? The answer: Mayflower and Beaver

On our way out we stop at Washington's capital Olympia.

And then we made our way out!!!

It was super muddy on the paths in the corn maze I was so glad we had our boots on. I felt bad for the people in tennis shoes!

We then had fun around the rest of the Farm!
